2021 census · what it means at the door
19%Newer homes
About 19% of homes in Markham were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.
Many newer homes have a keypad by the door, several remotes and an app that reports whether the door is open. We keep all of these talking to the opener, clear codes from devices that have gone missing and set up new ones so the whole household is covered.
56%
Single-detached houses make up about 56% of homes in Markham (2021 Census).
In a neighbourhood with both detached and attached homes, some customers decide alone and others report to a board or property manager. We adapt the visit accordingly, giving a homeowner options at the door and a manager a written summary they can circulate.
